ITINERARY:

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Start your adventure with a morning pickup from your hotel in Fes. Travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and then visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to friendly Barbary monkeys.

Continue through Midelt, and drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves, Berber villages, and stunning desert landscapes.

Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Meet your camel caravan and embark on a sunset camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Arrive at your Sahara desert camp, enjoy traditional dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.

Overnight in Merzouga Desert Camp.


Day 2: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Khamlia – Black Desert – Nomad Visit

Wake up early to experience the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, explore the Merzouga region with a 4×4 or camel:

  • Visit Khamlia village, famous for Gnawa music

  • Explore the Black Desert with volcanic rock formations

  • Meet a nomad family, enjoy tea, and learn about desert life

  • Walk through the Merzouga Palm Grove and nearby oases

  • Optional activities: quad biking, sandboarding, or dune trekking

Return to your hotel in Merzouga for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, depart Merzouga and drive west toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, a canyon with 300-meter-high limestone cliffs. Walk along the gorge and take in the breathtaking scenery.

Continue through the Dades Valley, known for its winding roads, rock formations, and the “Monkey Fingers” formations. Optionally, visit the Roses Valley (seasonal) to see rosewater production and ancient kasbahs.

Overnight in Dades Valley or Boumalne Dades hotel.


Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains

After breakfast, drive through Skoura Oasis to see the Kasbah Amridil and lush palm groves. Continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film city, with optional visits to Taourirt Kasbah or Atlas Film Studios.

Next, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, famous for its mud-brick architecture and appearances in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying panoramic views along the way.

Overnight in a hotel near the High Atlas or Marrakech outskirts.


Day 5: Marrakech – Optional City Exploration / Free Day

Spend the day exploring Marrakech at your own pace. You can visit:

  • Jemaa el-Fnaa Square

  • Koutoubia Mosque

  • Saadian Tombs

  • Bahia Palace

  • Majorelle Garden

  • Souks and artisan workshops

Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing day at your hotel or riad before the final day’s tour.

Day 6: Departure from Marrakech
