Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Your journey begins early with a pick-up from your hotel in Fes. Travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping first in Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its alpine design and European-style atmosphere.

Continue toward the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the friendly Barbary macaque monkeys, where you can take photos and enjoy nature.

Proceed through the mountains to Midelt, a town known as the apple capital. After lunch, continue driving toward the Sahara through the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and impressive rock formations.

Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon, where your camels will be waiting. Begin your camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping to admire the surreal desert sunset.

Reach your Sahara desert camp, where you will enjoy dinner, Berber drumming, and a magical night under a star-filled sky.

Overnight in a desert camp.

Day 2: Full Day in Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomads – Black Desert – Oasis

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, start your full day exploring the Merzouga region in a 4×4.

Your desert discovery includes:

• Visit to Khamlia village, famous for traditional Gnawa music

• Exploring the Black Desert, known for its volcanic stones and panoramic views

• Visit to a nomad family, sharing tea and learning about desert life

• Stop at the old Mifis mines

• Walk through the Merzouga palm grove and oasis

• Free time to relax at your hotel or take optional activities (ATV/buggy rides)

After a fascinating day, return to your hotel in Merzouga for dinner and rest.

Overnight in a hotel or riad.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Fes. Drive through Rissani, the ancient capital of the Alaouite dynasty, known for its traditional market (souk).

Continue to Erfoud, then retrace your route through the Ziz Valley, the Middle Atlas Mountains, and Azrou.

Stop again in Ifrane for a break before arriving in Fes in the late afternoon or early evening.

Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or riad.
