Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Begin your journey with an early pick-up from your hotel in Fes. Travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and visit the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to friendly Barbary monkeys.

Continue through Midelt, a mountain town famous for apples and natural beauty, before entering the dramatic Ziz Valley, with its lush palm groves and traditional Berber villages.

Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Meet your camel caravan and embark on a camel trek across the iconic dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoying the stunning sunset over the Sahara.

Arrive at your desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music, and sleep under a star-filled sky.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Khamlia – Black Desert – Nomad Visit

Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, explore the Merzouga region in a 4×4 vehicle or on camelback:

• Visit Khamlia village, famous for traditional Gnawa music

• Explore the Black Desert, with its volcanic rock formations

• Meet a nomad family, experience their lifestyle, and enjoy Moroccan tea

• Visit Merzouga Palm Grove and desert oases

• Optional activities: quad biking, sandboarding, or dune trekking

Return to your hotel or riad in Merzouga for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, begin your drive west toward the Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most stunning natural sites. Walk along the canyon and enjoy the dramatic cliffs rising over 300 meters.

Continue through the Dades Valley, known for its scenic winding roads and red-rock landscapes. Stop along the “Monkey Fingers” rock formations for photos.

Optionally, explore the Roses Valley (seasonal), famous for rosewater production and ancient kasbahs.

Overnight in a hotel or guesthouse in Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Fes

Depart Dades Valley after breakfast and drive through Skoura Oasis, home to the Kasbah Amridil and lush palm groves. Continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film city, with optional visits to Taourirt Kasbah or Atlas Film Studios.

Next, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, famous for its mud-brick architecture and movie appearances (Gladiator, Game of Thrones).

Finally, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying panoramic views before returning to Fes in the evening.
